Simple Ira Vanguard

Question: Looking to annually invest in a long term Roth IRA for 30 years. What’s a good company to go with?

T Rowe Price? Fidelity? Vanguard? A Roth IRA that is simple and easy to use.

Answer: Vanguard has really low annual expense ratios whileT Rowe Price funds have been traditionally better managed and they consistantly receive 5 morning star ratings. So personally I would go with T Rowe Price.

Sep Ira Home Purchase

Question: I am self-employed, have a SEP IRA, can I withdraw the $$ to purchase my first home without the 10% penalty?

Answer: See IRS publication 590.

The 10% penalty exception applies to the following:
“09 IRA distributions made for purchase of a first home, up to $10,000.”

To even avoid the $1000 in penalty, you have to time the amount distributed with the purchase.
